SDDU is led by people with direct experience in the rideshare and gig-driver community. Leadership roles are based on service, organizational responsibility and accountability to the mission.
Funding and use of support
San Diego Drivers United began as a grassroots effort funded largely through personal contributions and volunteer work. Donations and sponsorships support driver education, community outreach, advocacy, digital resources, events and direct assistance programs. SDDU does not charge union dues and is not a labor union.
As the organization grows, SDDU is working to strengthen grant readiness, recordkeeping and public reporting. Additional financial and program information will be added as reporting becomes available.
Partners and commercial services
Some website pages connect drivers with independent legal, automotive, insurance, financial, healthcare or transportation providers. These providers operate independently from SDDU unless a page expressly states otherwise. Prices, eligibility and service terms may change and should be confirmed directly with the provider.
SDDU’s inclusion of a resource does not guarantee an outcome and does not replace professional legal, financial, insurance, tax or medical advice.

- Disclose important partner relationships and limitations.
- Keep nonprofit advocacy separate from commercial transactions.
- Welcome good-faith questions from drivers, donors, media and community partners.
