Built by drivers.
Working for drivers.
San Diego Drivers United is an independent, driver-led nonprofit organization advocating for fair pay, transparency, safety, due process, and stronger opportunities for rideshare and gig workers.
A local organization with firsthand experience
San Diego Drivers United was created on January 5, 2024, by drivers who understand the realities of app-based transportation because they live them every day.
We bring drivers together to share information, identify common problems, develop practical solutions, and make driver voices part of public conversations about transportation in San Diego.
Our work reaches beyond one platform or one type of driver. We support a transportation community built on dignity, fairness, responsible competition, and respect for the people behind the wheel.

Restoring balance to transportation
We work toward a transportation system where drivers are informed, respected, fairly compensated, and able to participate in the decisions that affect their work and communities.
Our Mission
Advocate for fair pay, transparency, benefits, safety, and due process while educating and supporting San Diego’s driver community.
Our Vision
A balanced transportation industry where innovation and competition create meaningful choices without sacrificing driver dignity or public trust.
Our Values
Fairness, transparency, dignity, safety, independence, collaboration, and accountability guide every part of our work.
Practical support and a stronger public voice
Document driver concerns and present practical policy solutions to public officials and community leaders.
Help drivers organize information and understand available steps after an Uber or Lyft account deactivation.
Connect drivers with guidance and resources after accidents, safety incidents, and other urgent challenges.
Publish timely information about policies, earnings, expenses, platform changes, and driver rights.
Bring verified local drivers together for support, events, advocacy, and responsible collaboration.
Build relationships with trusted businesses and professionals that can provide value to local drivers.
From shared concerns to community action
Drivers created SDDU
A local organization began with a simple purpose: unite drivers, share reliable information, and build a stronger voice.
Support became action
Driver assistance, community outreach, public events, professional partnerships, and educational resources expanded.
A permanent public record
Our website documents advocacy, media coverage, community work, events, and the issues affecting drivers.

Real drivers. Real experiences. Real action.
Trust is built by showing the work. SDDU maintains a growing record of community events, public advocacy, media interviews, driver-support efforts, and educational reporting.
