Subtract real costs
Include fuel or charging plus a reasonable share for maintenance, insurance and other business expenses.
Compare equal time blocks
Compare the same weekday and hours for several weeks; repeated patterns are more useful than one unusual shift.
Simple example
Earnings: $180. Expenses: $45. Online time: 9 hours.
($180 − $45) ÷ 9 = $15 per hour before income and self-employment taxes.
